The last week

Unfortunately, I didn't attended the Field trip which is on last Friday for visiting the MIT museum, because I got gold that days and felt vety bad.

In the last week of the USPP program, lots of exams will be taken, so this will be a very busy week. In this week, all of our classes are finished and I will take so many "final class".

It is hard to believe that the program is nearly finished, two months pasted so fast, everything happened like yesterday. All I want to say is that I really enjoy what I have experienced in this two months, learning in the calss, making firends, struggling with my homework and exam. All I have done must be a very important part of my life, and I won't forget it!

Tour of Harvard and Harvard Square

We had a trip on Friday morning to visit Harvard University. We all started at Ruggle and took subway. After walked several time, we arrived at Harvard University, which is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. I did not believe that we could visit one of the famous schools in the world. Of course, I was very excited and pleasure to sightsee personally.
When we entered into this university, we could approximately saw the buildings which are generally made in red brick. The guide is very patient to introduce some information about university and gave us her precious experience in there. Eight Presidents of the United States were graduates of Harvard, including incumbent President Barack Obama. Harvard University today includes Harvard College and ten graduate and professional schools. All students who come from various countries meet together enjoying the life in Boston. In addition, she is a student in her sophomore year at Harvard University; she said she studied everyday except weekends, on which she would like to go shopping or something else. She is very comfortable and relaxed during the period in Harvard.

From this trip, we learned some aspects of Harvard University that are different from Northeastern University. Both schools have their own characteristics to attract students. If I have opportunity to study at Harvard University, I will cherish and enjoy everything in there in the future.

The trip to HARVARD

This Friday we had the trip to the Harvard University. I believe that everyone know the university because it is one of the most famous universities in the world. There are 8 presidents studied in the university! We I get off the train, I was amazing that the outside of Harvard was so bustling like a small town. When I got into the university, the philosophy became quiet.
To be honest, the environment in the Harvard is exactly good for study. Trees, lawns, squirrels, all are natural. And there are two points surprised me. The first the ceiling, when we get into a building like a church, at that moment, I was attractive because of the ceiling. It like a wooden arch, and gave me the sense of space. It seemed gorgeous but not luxury. The second one is the library in the Harvard. It was the biggest one I’ve never seen! It is so grand. It must be very cool if I can have the self study in the library. In general, it was a very memorable experience because I realize one of best universities!

A Trip to Harvard University

Last Fridy morning, we went to Havard University which is the most excellent university in the world. Friday was a very hot day, but we were still cheerfully. We went to Havard by the subway. When we went into Havard University, it was about half past ten.

A tour guide took us traveling around the campus, and her job was to introduce the main archetacts to us such as their usage and age. Like us, there were many tourist groups with a tour guide.

I like the style of the architectures in Harvard. They are almost red and have old age.

The Trip to Harvard University~~

In July 16th, we had a trip to Harvard University. It was amazing! Harvard is the best university in all over the world. The campus of Harvard is large and beautiful. Harvard campus is all of lawn and trees.

I have knew about the Massachusetts Hall where was the president works and also the most quietes students’ dorm. In the right of Massachusetts Hall is Harvard Hall where is used to be a library. Harvard's library system grew from a bequest in 1638 by John Harvard of 400 books. Over the next century the library grew to become the largest in America, but in 1764 a major fire destroyed almost all of Harvard's books and scientific instruments. One student brought a book out of the library slinkingly, because there was a rule that the most precious books cannot take out of library. After the fire this student returned the book to Harvard. This book became the only one of John Harvard’s donation. The Harvard president commended him but also expel him from Harvard.

The Harvard library is the oldest library in America and also is the largest universtity library in the world. There were about fifteen million books in Harvard library. It has the most books in world’s university libraries. I also saw there was a students read in front of this library.

I think everyone wants to study in Harvard, especially the Harvard Business School. I wish I can have the chance to learn The Case Method in HBS.

Harvard university

This trip was really exciting. it wasthe rare opportunity to visit Harvard university, which is the reputation university in thw world. I have a dream to enter this university, since I was young. fortunately, I can witness this school. when we arrived the school, a girl, who is pretty, was as a tour guilder, and then bring us to visit the school. she intrduced some houses and building in the school. the building is very old. After all, this school had experienced a long time. some American presedent gruduated in this school.I like the library in this school. The originator of the library was a mother, whoese son deaded in Titanic. in order to take a book a from room in the boat, he dead. after that, her monther established this library.Harvard university is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. Its faculty has produced more than 40 Nobel laureates. The statistic can test that this school is really wonderful. I love this trip to visit Harvard. I also want to accompolish my dream to enter the school.

Trip to Harvard University

A Trip to Harvard
it was so fantastic having a trip here, i could't believe that i had already been to one of the most famous schools around the world, that is Harvard. almost every students hope to enter this "awesome" school, needless to say, the students here are all talents.
We finally arrived Harvard, to be honest, it didn't seem like what i hope so, i supposed there would be many grand and old building, instead, it was not true. However, i've seen the second oldest building which is still been used today in Harvard. The guide took us to a lot of different places and gave presentations, that leads to the more understanding of Harvard. Harvard was established in 1636 and the name was given by John Harvard of Charlestown. 8 presidents came from Harvard, that's really exciting. During the trip, someone asked a question about Harvard admission rate, the students said it was almost 7 percents which is extremely low, i gotta be working harder and harder in order to get into this school, aha.
Harvard, it's the name which almost all people around the world familiar with, i admire it a lot. It was great visiting here, that's it.

trip

Haverd University??????It was an unbelievable trip.I never thought that I would visit Haverd. Compared to Northeastern , Haverd is more impressive and agggresive school. However, I also love Northeastern.

Students in Havered must to two different field courses. For example, if my major is Art histroy, I must take some courses about sicence like biology. It can perfect students knowledge.

I love the buildings in Havered ,espeically in the fresherman dinning hall.
It is amazing!!!! like u get back to the middle age europe, but I northeastern is also good enough!

Harvard Trip

Today, we have visited the Harvard University that is a private university located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, it also is the oldest university in the United State. Harvard University was found by John Harvard in 1636. I was excited because we just seen this famous university in television or Internet before, however, nowadays, we are walking in this beautiful campus. Moreover, different with Harvard Medical School, there are many of old style buildings in the campus, and this main color is red, because most of building was made of red brick. Besides, I found many church in or near the campus. The Memorial Church gives me an intensive memory, it has a white spire and red hall, looks like the Alps. Besides, I also found many Harvard student was studying on the grass.

Harvard University

Today we are lucky enough to have an opporunity to visit Harvard, which is famous in all over the world, and it is everyone's dream to study here. There is a student of Harvard to be our guide to introduce for us, she tells us many things about Harvard, and lead us to skim over the main part of the campus.

Harvard celebrated its 350th anniversary in 1986, it is the oldest institution of higher learning in the united states. It is established in 1636 by vote of the Great and General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony and was named for its first benefactor, John Harvard of Charlestown, a young minister who, upon his death in 1638, left his library and half his estate to the new institution. And this university is named according to John Harvard.

The campus of Harvard is very beautiful, lots of trees and the buildings are diverse, each building has its own unique characteristic. It attracts me not only because the beautiful campus enviroment, but also the great acdemic atmosphere.

The Harvard University

Today morning, we took the Orange line at Ruggles arrived the Downtown crossing, and trasfered to the Red line to the Harverd University. Today's trip is one of the most exciting trip for me.
Because we all know that Harvard University is one of the most famous universities in the world. And the location is also the same as our university, that's Boston, MA. Therefore, it's provided us a good chance to get close to the Harvard University.

Dormitory of freshman
Harvard University, which celebrated its 350th anniversary in 1986, is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. Founded 16 years after the arrival of the Pilgrims at Plymouth, the University has grown from nine students with a single master to an enrollment of more than 18,000 degree candidates. Over 14,000 people work at Harvard, including more than 2,000 faculty. Eight presidents of the United States- John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Theodore and Frankkklin Delano Roosevelt, Rutherford B. Hayes, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama- were graduates of Harvard. Its faculty has produced more than 40 Nobel laureates.

Multimedia Teaching Building

I think the architectural style of the Harvard University is older than
the Northeastern University, and the environmental greening is larger than our university. When we got in the Harvard University, we saw a big greenbelts with some old trees. It's very beautiful. Comparing the building of Northeastern University with the Harvard University, I think the Northeastern University is more modernization, and ordinary.
I like today's trip very much, I want come to Harvard for a long time. If I studying in Boston and haven't been to the Harvard, it's very regretful for me.

Black Heritage Trail

Black Heritage Trail
If you want to explore American civilization, African American history is one of part of American civilization you need know. Today, we have visited some famous Afro-Americans’ building and my presentation topic is the John Coburn House. I had researched this building and its household John Coburn before visit on Internet. The John Coburn House was designed by famous architect Asher Benjamin, and household, John P. Coburn was influential during he lived period, 1900s. He was a clothes dealer and community activist, although he was a black people; however, different with other African American in that period, he was a rich man. According to some evidence, he also had opened a Casino in his house. Besides, he also opened other interesting organization, “John Coburn was also a founder of the Massasoit Guards” (nps.gov). This organization tends to offer safe guard for people. The John Coburn House located in 2 Phillips Street, near the famous Bacon Hill.
All in all, that is amazing trip.

The Black Heritage Trail

Last Friday, we had a chance to have a black heritage trail, the reason why it's called black heritage trail is that this trail is all about the African-American history in Boston. At this trail, we need to do some research and preprare it, and we are going to give our classmate a presentation while we take the teail.

As you can see the picture above, that is the place need to be presented by me and my partner Jack. The Charles Street Meeting House, is an early-nineteenth-century historic church in Boston. The church has been used over its history by several Christan denominations and is a good example of reuse and adaptive reuse, having recently been renovated into a mixed use complex heavily featuring office use.
We also visit many historic place beside the Charles Street Meeting House, for instance, The Robert Gould Shaw and 54th Regiment Memorial , The Phillips School and John J. Smith House. All the hsitoric place we visited was really awesome, I love The Black Heritage Trail very much!

Black Heritage Trail

There were no chance for African-American students to join into the same school as the write student; even girls have to stay in homes until the first school is opened to everybody. It was really a terrible thing that black children and female children could not have the rights to get the higher education, but after we finished visiting the Black Heritage Trail, we see the change of the world since the 1800s.

After the Civil War, the blacks and female children have the rights to get education as the write male children, which is a big improvement of the USA society, because every one could learn more and work more for the same world.

But what if, there did not have the schools that allow the blacks and female join in, I cannot imagine the world would be today... maybe most of the African-American would still working with hard labor force.

Black heritage trail

This is a great chance to learn Afrian-American histroy. George Middleton House is one of the object. This house represent the life of George Middleton. He is the frist one the involed inthe Afrian-american organization community, and it is hard to imagine he was a horse breaker before the American Revolution War,becuase he was a colonal in the military. He gained considerable achievements in his life for the rights of Afican-American.

In addition, I learned that the process of chasing the freedom and equality of Afrian-American is not easy, and This house is an example of wood stucture at that age ,which built by the Afican-American.

I think the black people are excellent, becuase they left a considerable heritage.

Black Heritage Trail

The Black Heritage is a path to introduce American black history. And the Black Heritage Trail links more than 15 pre-Civil War structures and historic sites, including the African Meeting House. And at last Friday, we had such a trip in Boston. The interesting trip seemed more and more boring when the terrible sunshine outdoor made us more and more thirsty and tired. What attracted our attention most is to find somewhere to have a rest to prevent from the awful sunny day! Students fulled of passion before were likely to be tired of walking among those sites. During the visits to every site we had to give presentation prepared before to our team members, and people tired and hungry just stand aside without paying any attention to the what the speaker was say anymore.

Although the weather was really terrible making us tired and hungry, we stilled learned a lot of things about African-American history by joining the trip. In fact, I didn't enjoy the trip, but I did learn something in the trip.

Black Heritage Trail

Last Friday, we went to trip as usual, the Black Heritage Trail.

The Black Heritage is a path in Boston, Massachusetts, winding through the Beacon Hill neighborhood and sites important in American black history.
In 1783, Massachusetts became the first U.S. state to declare slavery illegal — mostly out of gratitude for black participation in the Revolutionary War. Subsequently, a sizable community of free blacks and escaped slaves developed in Boston, settling on the north face of Beacon Hill, and in the North End. Boston was long considered a desirable destination for southern black slaves escaping slavery via the Underground Railroad.

This trip let me know more about the freedom of Black and the Civil War. Also, this can help me know more about the American culture. This is very important because this had become a part of the culture of America.

I like this trip and it helped me a lot.
