Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

This Friday, we went to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

The Federal Reserve System (also known as the Federal Reserve, and informally as the Fed) is the central banking system of the United States. It was created in 1913 with the enactment of the Federal Reserve Act, and was largely a response to a series of financial panics, particularly a severe panic in 1907. Over time, the roles and responsibilities of the Federal Reserve System have expanded and its structure has evolved. Events such as the Great Depression were major factors leading to changes in the system. Its duties today, according to official Federal Reserve documentation, fall into four general categories:
Conducting the nation's monetary policy by influencing monetary and credit conditions in the economy in pursuit of maximum employment, stable prices, and moderate long-term interest rates.
Supervising and regulating banking institutions to ensure the safety and soundness of the nation's banking and financial system, and protect the credit rights of consumers.
Maintaining stability of the financial system and containing systemic risk that may arise in financial markets.
Providing financial services to depository institutions, the U.S. government, and foreign official institutions, including playing a major role in operating the nation's payments system
This trip gave us a great opportunity to know the structure of America better. And thus the trip become very excited and very useful for everybody.

A trip helps me understand the money -- Tim/Zhaobo Wei

It was a good chance for me to come to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and after the presentation of a leader in the system, I felt I had understood a lot of information about the money-influencing in the overall economy. As one of the majestic nations in the world, finacing makes the U.S. become stranger and stranger.

As you may probably know, there are about two-third of cheak of dollar are in the oversea economy. And that means lots of countries are using dallor as the native capital to do some exchanges.

When we talk about the economy of the United States, we must think about the Chinese economy. As these two countries are both exange goods and serveices by ecports and imports, many money flow between this two country. But almost the time, China likes win more in the international trade, which lead the U.S. Gov't cry for growth on the velue of RMB.

But for my situation, I have not really understood the real impacts or influences would be if the velue of RMB is increased. So, this is a good topic for me to find out.

One thing that I'd like to point out is the Bank of America is not the native bank of the US, but the bank of Itly and become the bank of America is because of the finacial Aid in a crisis, that is no banks could lend money to the citizens at all exept this bank. At that time the banks saves a lot of people, and peopel may thanks to it and call it the bank of America.

After all, I hope you all could have some communicate with me if you have any comments with the value rise of RMB.

Plans for this week

I didn't attend the field trip last friday because of the diarrhea, I feel very regret about that. Actually I got up early on last friday, but after I got up, I felt an extremly hurt in my stomach, and I realized that probably I've got the diarrhea then I begain to go to the bathroom......

Friday was a terrible day, but this week could be worse, because in this week we are gonna take the mid-term exam, I'm sure that it would be a busy week.

I really have no words to say, that is, looking forward to the next field trip.

A visit to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

Last Friday, we visited the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. We got the orange line to downtown and change to red line only one station by subway. Outside the subway station, across the street, a building stood in front of us. Before we got into this building, we must get the security inspection. It is a very modern building with a very huge hall, which has plenty of sofas, and the plants are in the center surrounding to these sofas. After we waited for a moment, we get lifts to get a lecture about the Federal System Bank of Boston. By introducing Federal System Bank in general, I learned a lot.

The speaker divided this lecture into several parts in order to make us clear and more understood. According to the history, I knew it is founded in 1913, was designed by congress. It is a federal system, including a central, governmental agency and twelve regional Federal Reserve Banks, located in major cities throughout the nation such as San Francisco, New York, Chicago. As time went on, of course, exchange rate of currency has been changing. Monetary policy is important to reflect American financial abilities. The intent of congress in shaping the Federal Reserve Act was to keep politics out of monetary policy. Especially, he showed the video to describe the inflation and recession phenomenon.

I really liked this method to tell us the knowledge, making us not feel boring but interesting. I learned some fundamental knowledge about Federal Reserve Bank, after I graduate in finance and insurance major, these knowledge maybe help me apply quickly in the future.

the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

  • This Friday, Kats arranged us to visit the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. This is a department of the nation’s central bank; it promoted sound growth and financial stability in the nation. It made by the Congress, and the Federal Reserve’s ultimate accountability is to Congress. In general, this is a totally different bank between other banks in Boston. And the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston is only one of 13 branches in the America.

  • First of all, when we got into the Federal Reserve Bank, the building was very majestic that gave me a very stately feeling. After passing the safe examination system, exactly, the visiting process is a presentation which the staff in the bank introduced the operation workflow and some knowledge about the business about the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Because I have never learned about the economics or business before, so I had no idea about the economics. I was still a little confused about the Inflection in my macroeconomics course. After the general introduction of the monetary policy, I knew a lot. Like what the Inflection is, and what the recession is. What’s more, I understand how the government and bank work to prevent and solve this kind of economic problem. I found the most interesting part of the presentation is that the presenter gave us some instances to telling truth from falsehood of money. Some difference between the forged note and the genuine note is the value number. Even the most interesting difference is the different head portraits. Everyone laughed at this. The experience visiting to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is very interesting and useful, to be honest, I considered it could be a good resource for me to help my macroeconomics. Fortunately, I did not choose business as my major, because I think it is too complicated system and too difficult to learning after I knew more about the operation workflow.

Federal Reserve Bank in Boston

This Friday we had a trip to the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston. As I knew before, there are 12 Federal Reserve Bank in the U.S.A. Although I didn't been there with my team because the sickness I had, I learned a lot from the Internet after that.
The Bank is commonly called Boston Fed, is responsible for the First District of the Federal Reserve, which covers Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
As part of the nation's central bank, the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston promotes sound growth and financial stability in New England and the nation. The Bank contributes to local communities, the region, and the nation through its high-quality research, regulatory oversight, and financial services, and through its commitment to leadership and innovation. (wikipedia)
In addition, I got to used to life in Boston gradually, sometimes I felt myself home when I was walking along the street in Boston. And I like to see all the beautiful sites in Boston. Although I missed a chance to explore Boston, I'm looking forward to more opportunies to know more about the city of Boston!

A visit to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

Last Friday we had a trip as usual where is the central bank of the USA. And a stuff member who told us he have worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for twenty years gave us a speach to introduce the central bank.

The Federal Reserve System was established in Washington, D.C. in 1913, and twelve reginal Ferderal Reserve Banks, located in major cities throughout the nation. It includs the Federal Reserve Board, The Federal Reserve banks and the Federal Open Market Committee. To my suprise, the central bank of the USA is a 100% private bank. The Federal Reserve Board is the core institution of the system. It is a Federal Agency, consisting of seven members( chairman, vice-chairman and five members) who must nominated by the president and authorized by the Senate.

The Federal Reserve Banks hold the cash reserves of depository institutions and make loans to them. It move currency and coin into and out of circulation, and collect and process millions of checks each day. It supervie and examine commercial bans that are members of the Federal Reserve System for safety and soundness. In general, it has three main role: Monetary Policy, Payment System and Bank Regulation & Supervision.

This Friday we learned a lot about the basic information of the Federal Reserve Bank. We know how it works. The trips like this are worthwhile.

the Federal Reserve System Bank of Boston

The Federal Reserve System Bank of Boston

Just as usual, we have a trip in Friday. And this time we went to the Federal Reserve System Bank of Boston. I thought we will have a visit of this bank, but actually, we took a lecture.

We all took security check before enter the bank, it seems a little bit serious. And then someone in bank gave us a presentation, which is about history, system and something else about the Federal Reserve System Bank. And it leasted for one hour.

We learned lots of basic information about this bank from the presentation, such as this bank only issue money, but not print money, and it is independent within government. And threr are three parts which are Monetary policy, Payment System, Bank requlation and supervision. He also told us something about inflation. In deed, it was more like an economy lesson.

It was not very interesting but useful. I leared a lot about the federal reserve system from this trip.

bank

Friday, we always have a trip to visit the city. compared with the last trip. This trip was a different, bacause we had to visit the bank, rather than building or something else. our classmates spent some on subway, changeing orange line to red line, which was a little bit tired. It was very worthful, because visiting banks is beneficial to study business. some people want to work in bank. I was really exciting. It was the first time visiting bank inUSA. Initially, we waited in a lobby for a long time. After that, a person brought us to the elevator, which was very small. It had a capacity of 10 people. When we arrived, a person, a leader in this bank, guided us to a meeting room. He gave us a presentation about the Federal Reserve bank, and some eeconomic problem about it.

A Visit to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston~

In the last Friday- 6.25, we have a visit to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. This is the fourth place I’ve seen since I came to Boston. And all of them are excellent.

We took subway to go to there. I have no idea what the Federal Reserve Bank is. There’s no Federal Reserve Bank in China. When I didn’t arrived here, I thought this bank maybe like the bank of America where is for consumers to deposit etc. It was totally different with the commercial bank. We must pass through the safety inspection to ensure we were not taken danger with us.

We have watched a short video about the Federal Reserve Bank and a presentation introducing this bank. I known that the Federal Reserve Bank is not for print money, is only for issue. The bank of print money is in Washington DC.

From today’s visit of the Federal Reserve Bank, I feel a little clear about this bank’s importance and how bank operates.

Federal Reserve Bank

last friday, was also an impressive day since i came to Boston. we visited Federal Reserve Bank, fortunately, this trip didn't require us walking too much, haha. the building of federeal reserve bank doesn't seem as grand as J.F.K museum, to be honest, at the first sight, i didn't like its appearance especially the color brown, it just seemed like a construction built one century ago. however, this feeling has been totally changed when i came into that building. everything here looked very nice and concinnous. then we took elevator to underground, a bank clerk who has 23 year work experience in this bank gave us a lecture. we all learned a lot from this lecture. i had not slept well before visiting this museam, but this lecture was really interesting that i got more and more excited.

after this lecture, we have finished our trip of Federal Reserve Bank. it was a really impressive day and memories of this day will last for a long time. i wish one day, i would have another opportunity to visit such kind of bank~

Bus Terminal is being side the Bank

This Firday I visrited the Federal Reserve Bank of America, I learnd a lot, like there sre 12 federal reserve bank in USA , but I'm not excited about it.

A gentle man did a presentation for us to introduce how the bank work for the money?and so on. I think it acts the same role as the People's bank of China. The most interesting thing is there are 7 different president's head pictures on the different value of money. For example, Linkin is on 2 dollars, Jerfferson in on 5 dollars.

In addition, after visiting, I walked to Chinatown alone for buying cherries!!!I love it !!!! ,and it is good experience to walk in the street in Boston, because it can help me to find a place of myself in Boston( like feel at home), and I konw where bus termianl is.

.

Visited the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

On the June 25th, we had a trip to visit the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. At 9 o'clock we got together at Guggles and took the orange line to the Downtown crossing and transfered to the red line, one stop later, we arrived the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
The Federal Reserve System was designed by Congree to have a broad perspective on the economy and on economic activity in all parts of the nation. It's a ferderal system, composed basically of a central, governmental agency- the Board of Governors-in Washington, DC. And twelve regional Ferderal Reserve Banks, located in major cities throughout the nation. The Federal Reserve Banks were established by Congress as the operating arms of the nation's cental banking system.
We listened a presentation from a person who have been worked in the Ferderal Reserve Bank for 23 years, and watched a short film. In this short film we know that the Ferderal Reserve Bank created in 1930. And in 1800, states could creative their own money. Big part of the Ferderal Reserve Banks are located in the northeast. He taught us how to differentiate the real and bogus money.
Through this trip, we know the histroy of American bank and the economic system. It's different with Chinese bank. All of the Chinese banks are state-owned not independent.

Freedom Trail......King.Jin

The first step to get to know a city probably is to know its history. That's why we had the trip called "Freedom Trail" last Friday. It was a hot day, but we were really looking forward to get to understand the history and process of development of this city. The so called Freedom Trail is a trail that connects 16 significant historic sites in series. We started the trip with Boston Common which is the central public park in Boston. Along the trail, we visited some important sites in Boston's history such as Old State House, Site of the Boston Massacre, etc. Every student was responsible to give a short presentation about different sites. That's helpful for us to know some details. From this trail I learned how Boston people make efforts to be independent, and how they continuously pursue their freedom and happiness. Also, I firmly felt that the happiness of our generation today is the result of former generations' efforts. Thanks for this Freedom Trail trip, it taught me a lot.

Freedom Trail

Our Red Sox had a wonderful trip on last friday, we call it Freedom Trail. In this trip, we saw a lot of historic sites, they were all amazing. Not only just for visiting, each student had a mission as well which is we need to do some research before the trip, look up the imfornation from books or internet, and on friday we are going to do a short presentation for other students, introduce the historic sites which you are responsible for.

The historic sites which I need to introduce for my classmates is called The Boston Massacre, we can see the picture below.

The Boston Massacre is an big event in the United States history. In 1770, tensions were high between Bostonians and Redcoats send to Boston in the wake of the Stamp Act riot. The Bostonians could not put up with the domination of the British, so they began to tiot, but I think they were sdupid bucause the British military had guns but they didn't; the Brirish military could kill people but they couldn't, so obviously, Bostonians were lose, finally three civilans were killed at the scene of the shooting, eleven were injured, and two died after the incident. The funny thing is that there were just five people died in the incident but it were called Massacre.

We also visited some other sites during the Freedom Trail, I think it's a memorable trip because I had compreheaded more Boston history and culture through this trip, I loved it!

Come on Get higher

Today, My favoriate sight is the last one,Bunker Hill Monument(BHM),located at Charlestown in Boston, and the most important thing is I gave a bird's-eye viewe of the whole city after I mounted the top of this moument.I love this feeling, when I sat at the highest place of any building. It is a great regret that I did not scream out that I am the queen of the world.(Where is Jack?the king of the world, but Im not Rose)

However, the monument was built to momerorate the battle of Bunker hill in 1775,which is the frist conficlt between Bristish Army and Particts forces in revolution war. This Monument shows the rich history in Boston, especially at the field of freedom and independent.

Freedom Trail

It was also a very exciting trip last Friday; we have visited many gorgeous buildings including the Boston common, Park Street Church, Granary Burying Ground, edc. We gave presentations in these places and it was really helpful to understand more about Boston and even American culture.

We took subways to downtown crossing; it’s really a modern place, it was really a tough time walking for almost 2 hours, the sunlight was very strong and I was in black, what a disaster it was. We walked for almost 2 miles; water became an essential thing that everyone should keep one. I gave my presentation in front of Boston Latin School, scenery here is fantastic, this school is almost the earliest school in the country, it might seems so old but it is still beautiful until now. Presentations during this trip were very helpful and impressive, after everyone’s presentation, we’ve learned a lot about the place where we had gone. By this trip, I felt a totally different Boston, before this trip, I just simply thought that Boston was made of passion cause it has the best basketball team- Celtics and best baseball team-Red Sox. However, after this trip, I realized that Boston is also the place where it has a long and colorful culture. I was shocked by these architectures.

In conclusion, it was really exciting and impressive to see these architectures and I have learned much more about Boston, I wish I can have second opportunity to visit these beautiful again.

Freedom Trail

Last Friday, we took subway to downtown to have the freedom trail. This trail had totally 12 landscapes.
The first view reflected to my eyes was the Boston Common, which dated from 1634; it is one of the oldest city parks in the United States. Walked along the streets, I could feel the people really life, simple and relax. The most interested me was the Boston Latin School, which is a public exam school founded on April 23, 1635, in Boston. It is both the first public school and oldest exiting school in the United States. Likewise, The Boston Latin School was a bastion for educating the sons of the Boston elite, resulting in the school claiming many prominent Bostonians as alumni.
I paid more attention to this trip was the Old North Church, which is in the city of Boston, also known as Christ Church, is the oldest standing church building, having first opened its doors to worshippers on December 29, 1723. Its 191 foot steeple is the tallest in Boston and because of its prominence would play a dramatic role in the American Revolution. The enduring fame of the Old North began on the evening of April 18, 1775, when the church sexton, Robert Newman, climbed the steeple and held high two lanterns as a signal from Paul Revere that the British were marching to Lexington and Concord by sea and not by land using the famous lanterns "one if by land, two if by sea" .This fateful event ignited the American Revolution.
These landscapes exist in everyday life in America. These architects and parks are the signals to respond the history of America and are also reflected the American culture. In order to quickly comprehend and understand the American culture, we need to observe things surrounding us.

Freedom Trail---Vivi,Li

In 6.18.2010, all of us went to the famous trail called Freedom Trail in Boston. The Freedom Trail is a brick path from Downtown, Boston. The Freedom Trail includes about 16 significant historic sites. And it is about 2.5 mile walk from Boston Common to Bunker Hill Monument. There is no other place in the United States where you can take in the rich history of America’s Revolution — the events that led up to the historic break from Britain and the brave people who shaped our national government.( http://www.thefreedomtrail.org/ )

The day today is very hot. We stared our trail in 9:00am. We took the subway to Downtown Crossing.
The starting point of Freedom Trail is Boston Common and also is my introduce site. Boston Common established in 1643, and it is the oldest park in this country. The park is almost 50 acres. The Boston Common was a place for celebration as well.

Then is the Park Street Church, built in 1809 by twenty-six local people and still used today. The designer of Park Street Church is also designed Yale University.
We also saw the Boston Latin School, Boston Massacre. It’s a historical trail.

The Freedom Trail

Paul Revere's House

The Old State House

On the June 18th 2010, we gathered together at 9 o’ clock in Guggles and took the orange line to the Downtown crossing to the Freedom Trail. The Freedom Trail have twelve scenery spots. That’s including the Boston Common, Park Street Church, Granary Burying Ground, King’s Chapel and King’s Chapel Burying Ground, Boston Latin School,The Old South Meeting House, The Boston Massacre, The Old State House, Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere’s House, The Old North Church and Copp’s Hill. All the attractions are connected in one street cross the Downtown Crossing. And professor ask every students choice one attractions to do the presentation to introduce to all team members. And I do the presentation about The Old South Meeting House.

The Old South Meeting House was bulit in 1729 as a Puritan meeting house. Old South Meeting House was the stage for some og the most dramatic events leading up to the American Revolution. The Old South Meeting House locate in the Downtown crossing area of Boston, Massachusetts, gained fame as the organizing point for the Boston Tea party on December 16th,1773.Today, the Old South Meeting House is a museum where visitors can view the reenactments of the Boston Tea Party debates.

And I took some photoes in the following.

King’s Chapel and King’s Chapel Burying Ground

Boston Latin School

We had I trip on this Friday as usual, and this trip is called freedom trial. In the trip we visited 12 famous sites in Boston, which represent the glorious history of the U.S. The sites almost surround the downtown crossing, and we walk around the downtown crossing for more than 3 hours. In fact, I don't really hanging out in such a hot day. Compared with me, our GSA may have more passion on this trip. But after we had finished this trip, something changed in my mind. I found it that by having this trip I gain more ideas of history of the U.S and more chances to exploring America.

At every place we visited we would stop and let one of our group member to give a presentation to all of us to introduce the site we were visiting. And in this way we can gain ability of giving presentation in front of the crowd and discover the origin of American culture.

It is a pity that the weather is not good enough for having a visit cause the hot sun always make us thirsty and tired. After all the interesting content of the trip is enjoyable after all.

The Freedom Trail on Friday

Friday was a sunny day, we had a two-mile trip on The Freedom Trail. There are twelve view points in The Freedom Trail. Profeessor Katz asked us to choose one of the view points to introduce for the rest of the class, and I chose the Copp's Hill which is the stop on the Freedom Trail. In this blog I want to introduce the Copp's Hill again and express some of my opinions.

Copp's Hill was named after a shoemaker William Copp who once owned the land. Copp's Hill is a burying ground which means funeral garden. It is the last resting place of the people who lived in the North End with different status and occupations.

It is located on a hill where was a windmill stood. The cemetery's boundaries were extended several times and it is Boston's largest colonial burying ground and the second oldest burying ground. It was founded by the town of Boston in 1695. There are thousands of graves and 272 tombs. Because of its height, the British used the hill to train artilery on Charleston during the Revolutionary War.

After finishing this trip, I know more about American, especially about Boston. It was a long-distance trip; however, it was worthwhile. I hope we could have more trips like this to help us have a better understanding about America.

The Freedom Trail

This Friday we experienced very interesting freedom trail which everyone chose one place or building to introduced. All places and buildings are nearby the downtown crossing. There are almost 12 beauty spots and the most impressive one is the Park St. Church, not only because it is my choice for presentation.

Before I introduced the Park St. Church on Friday, I got here once two weeks ago. I entered the church but not visit the church carefully, and left hurriedly. So I did not know lots of history or information about the church. When I chose the place I wanted to introduce, I chose the Park St. Church because I wanted know more about it. The Park Street Church is one of the most famous buildings in Boston, and every visitor should go there. It built in 1809 and still used today, maybe it is very young church in America, but I interested in its architect but not the history. The designer called Peter; he is the architect of Yale University. How I envy him.

And there English class for everyone. You can take your passport and pass a very easy examination; in addition, you can enter the English class. It’s for Free! Most students are Chinese or Japanese, you can not only make new friends in there, and also, students can learn from Bible. How interesting it is!

Of course, that was real tired day; I can’t walk any more after the trail. But I think it was a invaluable experience because we used 3 hours to visit some very famous places in Boston, and presented by ourselves.

Freedom trail

Friday, it was the third time to take part in the trip. We visited many architectures in Boston , such as the Boston common, Park street church, granary burying ground, to name but a few. I felt really hot and thristed, I hated to go outside in this kind of weather. compared with me, our leader had more passion to enjoy this trip, which is just a jok. By visiting these building, I have understand a completly different Boston. I Had thought this city was a very prosperous, just a temprarity or short history, before this trip. I want to appreciate my teacher give me this opportunity to recongnize this city.I will conduct you to visit here, if you has some interests. Firstly, the boston common, where livestock had been grazed. is the first landmark in there. After that, we went to a sacred place, in which some tombs were established. For example, granary burying ground, some earily citizens are buried here. I am impressed with the boston massarce, which commemorated 5 soldiers. I am curiousity about it, since only 5 soldiers passed away, which is called massarce. Compared with China, more than 700,000 was killed. It is more tragic than Boston. It is the famous event, NanJing massarce. It led me to feel extremly grieved. Anyway, I Have better understand the city.

The Freedom Trail

The Freedom Trail is a red (mostly brick) path through downtown Boston, Massachusetts that leads to 16 significant historic sites. It is a 2.5 mile walk from Boston Common to Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown with simple ground markers, graveyards, notable churches and other buildings, and a historic naval frigate along the way. Most sites are free; three, Old South Meeting House, Old State House, and Paul Revere House, have small admission fees; while others suggest donations.

During this trip, I really got a lot of knowledge even though I did not feel well on that day. We visited different places and at each place, a student comes up to present a presentation to other students for showing the information about this place. It is really a excellent experience for us to discover the knowledge and the origin of the culture of the United States.

Since I did not feel very well that day, when I finished my presentation, I came back to school alone, it is really a pity for me that can not go to the places left with our classmates. I really enjoyed it very much.

Freedom Trail - Tim/Zhaobo Wei

America is a majestic country, but does not the same as the historical countries like China. The United States is a fresh country but speed up to become one of the most powerful countries all over the world. We should not only notice the succeed of the this country, but also recall the reasons did it become a such admiring country in the world. As for the reason, I take these query began my trip to the Freedom Trail.

The Freedom Trail is a red path, which almost built by the red brick, and is through the Downtown Boston, MA. During our trip, we have viewed 12 of the places onthe path, but the total place is 16 significant historic sites. "It is a 2.5 mile walk from Boston Common to Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown with simple ground markers, graveyards, notable churches and other buildings, and a historic naval frigate along the way."(Wikipedia, 2010) And The Freedom Trail might be the first place that Americans fight with the British Redcoats - the old British soldiers.

During the trip, I did a presentation about the Boston Common, and because of the presentation, I got a better understanding withe Freedom Trail. Therefore, I'd like to share my experience of the Boston Common.

Boston Common is the first site of our visiting. It was established in 1634, and is the center and oldest public park in Boston. Few years later, it become the gressland to feed the animals that became known as the Common Land, and was used to graze local livestock until 1830. This place used crowded with soldiers, and more than 1000 Redcoats made camp on the Common during the British occupation of Boston in 1775. But also a good place for celebration as well. From my knowledge, Mr. Martin Luther King used held a speach about civil right rallies at this place (The-Freedom-Trail, 2010). Therefore, it is very famouse in every citizens heart.

Not only the Common, but also many more places that attracted me, but here I just recall this one site. I will you could enjoy the place during your vacations or free time; it is really a good place to know and learn about the history about America.

The freedom trail

The Freedom Trail

Just as usual, we had a trip in Friday with our team--Red Sox. it was Freedom Trail Tour, and including twelve places, which are The Boston Common, Parker Street Church, Granary Burying Ground, King's Chapel and King's Chapel Burying Ground, Boston Latin School, The Old South Meeting House, The Boston Massacre, The Old State House, Fanueil Hall, Paul Revere's House, The Old North Church, and Copp's Hill.

All of these places have their own special historical meanings. We did the trip with walking all the time, and each of us has choosen a place before, then do a presentation when we arrive that place. I choosed the place that called The Boston Massacre Site, it famouse for a nviloent incident in 1770.

It was a mob of men and boys taunting a sentry standing guard at the city's customs house, when other British Soldiers came to the sentry's support, a free-for-all ensued and shots were fired into the crowd. And it leds to the deaths of five civilians at the hands of British troops. The legal aftermath of which helped spark the rebellion in some of the British of American colonies, which culminated in the American Revolutionary War and the Boston Tea Party.

Through this trip, we gain more infromation about these historical interests. Although we were very tired, thie trip was educative. And I also know more about this old city with long histroy.

The Blog of the journey to JFK

This Sunday, we went to the museum of JFK. It is really an exciting time. We have recognized the value of JFK and learn a lot of different things about him. And this journey has let me know more about the American culture well.

In the museum, the exhibition that excited me the most is the space suit of the person that is the first human land on the moon. It is really amazing that I can really see it in the museum, and there are also a lot of stamps that in order to memories these people during that time. Among this trip, I took a lot of beautiful picture with my friends and my teachers. Once more, this is really an exciting trip in the USA.

At the same time when we pass through the museum, I also noticed that there are some computers in the last few gallery of the museum. I took one of them to look at, it is the website of the museum and you can easily to see any of the exhibition in this website; it means that everyone can stay at home and enjoy the beautiful journey to the museum of JFK. It is quite amazing.

This Sunday is a very good, happy, excited day and it will let me memories the museum of JFK for a long time.

Exploring America

Last Friday, I was honor to have an opportunity to visit a very famous museum in Boston, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library Museum. We got there in the morning, by taking subway and bus, and we were all very exciting about this.

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is the Presidential Library and museum of the 35th President of the United State, John F. Kennedy. Truth be told, when I arrived the place the first feeling is beautiful. Because the museum is located next to the beach, I can feel the wind flowing from the other side of the sea.

Got into the museum, I was very impressed by the videos which were very imformative - I particularly liked the Cuban Missile Crisis one, as it gave a very real sense of what was at stake at the time. I also loved the Jackie room and seeing a few of her gowns. I only wish there were more about her! I found the Mental Retardation section a little small and lacking, especially given the legacy of the Special Olympics.

We also snapped some great photo in this huge museum. Cute gift shop at the end, great gifts but expensive.

So this is our amazing trip for visiting the JFK museum, it must be a memorable trip.

Last Friday, our team red sox had a small trip to the John F Kennedy Presidential Library. And the visitation really gave me a educational experience. When we got out of the T station, we were surrounded by the blue sky, sunshine and fresh air. After a 10-minute bus ride we arrived the destination. Along the beautiful seaside of Boston is the JFK Presidential Library. The huge buiding is made up of 2 parts, one part is a white buiding and another is made of black glass wall. It is beautiful with the white cloud and blue sky behind the buiding.

We saw a documentary after the entrance into the library and the documentary briefly told visitors the whole life of the 35th U.S president. More and more representative things for JFK's life came into our eyes as the visit went on. What is the most famous is JFK's death caused by a murder of a gun shot. And there are still many mysteries including the death of JFK.

I have some new ideas about JFK after the visit to the library. In conclusion, the trip to JKF Presidential Library was a really fantastic and educational experience during my life in U.S.A.

Trip to the JFK Lib.

The trip to the J.F.K. Library
---Tim, Rad Sox

J.F.K. stands for the Mr. John F. Kennedy who was the 35th president of the United States, and serving from 1961 to 1963 till his assassination. From my perspective, President J. Kennedy is a great that are still living in citizen's heart. And after this trip to the J.F.K. Library, I think I have received a lot of information about the society of America during 1960s, especially the life of this president.

In the library, there are many exhibitions that displayed the early 1960s in the United States, and personally the exhibitions have given me a brief introduction of the society and the life of President J. Kennedy.

There are three things that attracted me the most, and from the three I have seen the history during that time.

The first exhibition is the a book, which is called The Enemy Within and had written by the brother of J.F.K. - the Robert F. Kennedy. Although I am not sure about what the really discussion about the book, I guess it might be some stories around the Kennedy brothers. I think this book might have some topic about the II World War, but also might be the Cold War, because during that time it is just 20-year later of the Second World War, and is during the cold war, so, I can give the guess based on the history. And though the video at the beginning of my trip, I knew J. Kennedy had read about the book. So, is book might be a good toy for me to enjoy during my free time.

The second exhibition I'd like to say is the Berlin Wall, and I think it is a good prove of the end of the Cold War. As the date that the Berlin Wall was broken up, Federal Germany and Republic Germany was combining as a whole, and the soviet russia finished the Cold War with America. And it is one of the most important cases that John F. Kennedy had done during his life.

The third and also the last things are some advertisements of the election of John F. Kennedy. As far as I concern, President J.Kennedy was supporting the Economic reform and the tax cutting, and t name just of few. And based on the videos, I found the competitor of him is quite weak as the competitor had even no point to compete the president. And I think it is good for me to understand this pice of history.

All in all, the trip to the J.F.K. is valuable. And I think it was just a beginning for me to understand the big person John F. Kennedy, and in the future I will do more research about the famous president.

Look around the John F. Kennedy Presidential Liberary Museum

Today, this is the second trip, the same is our GSA and our instructor led us to go, although some of this quite long distance, in the Boston surburbs, by the way I first came to Boston to enjoy the this seaside Kennedy Museums. In fact, I know not a lot Kennedy, but the museum today to read a description of his film. Let me a rough idea of his life.

Inside the museum, everywhere in the Kennedy years, when the articles that most of the time the election is what John F. Kennedy, to be honest, I do not particularly like the exhibits and the least favorite. I will only go to aooreciate, because too many exhibits and not everyone is watching carefully.

However, in so many exhibits inside, I was most impressed by the Space Room. As introduce said take one small step into an exhibit that fills your imagination with tje excitement and enthusiasm of the early space race. In 1951 President Kennedy pledged that America would land a man on the moon and return him safety within the decade. This is the history of mankind is of a great significance. Exhibition hall is another Kennedy-Nixon Debate, I think that this exhibition can feel that time was John F. Kennedy When running for president the sort of debate, the atmosphere, remember this scene in our high school histiory book has made me a deep impression.

This is my journey, make me just use one word to describe awesome.
