America is a majestic country, but does not the same as the historical countries like China. The United States is a fresh country but speed up to become one of the most powerful countries all over the world. We should not only notice the succeed of the this country, but also recall the reasons did it become a such admiring country in the world. As for the reason, I take these query began my trip to the Freedom Trail.
The Freedom Trail is a red path, which almost built by the red brick, and is through the Downtown Boston, MA. During our trip, we have viewed 12 of the places onthe path, but the total place is 16 significant historic sites. "It is a 2.5 mile walk from Boston Common to Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown with simple ground markers, graveyards, notable churches and other buildings, and a historic naval frigate along the way."(Wikipedia, 2010) And The Freedom Trail might be the first place that Americans fight with the British Redcoats - the old British soldiers.
During the trip, I did a presentation about the Boston Common, and because of the presentation, I got a better understanding withe Freedom Trail. Therefore, I'd like to share my experience of the Boston Common.
Boston Common is the first site of our visiting. It was established in 1634, and is the center and oldest public park in Boston. Few years later, it become the gressland to feed the animals that became known as the Common Land, and was used to graze local livestock until 1830. This place used crowded with soldiers, and more than 1000 Redcoats made camp on the Common during the British occupation of Boston in 1775. But also a good place for celebration as well. From my knowledge, Mr. Martin Luther King used held a speach about civil right rallies at this place (The-Freedom-Trail, 2010). Therefore, it is very famouse in every citizens heart.
Not only the Common, but also many more places that attracted me, but here I just recall this one site. I will you could enjoy the place during your vacations or free time; it is really a good place to know and learn about the history about America.
