Last Friday, we took subway to downtown to have the freedom trail. This trail had totally 12 landscapes.
The first view reflected to my eyes was the Boston Common, which dated from 1634; it is one of the oldest city parks in the United States. Walked along the streets, I could feel the people really life, simple and relax. The most interested me was the Boston Latin School, which is a public exam school founded on April 23, 1635, in Boston. It is both the first public school and oldest exiting school in the United States. Likewise, The Boston Latin School was a bastion for educating the sons of the Boston elite, resulting in the school claiming many prominent Bostonians as alumni.
I paid more attention to this trip was the Old North Church, which is in the city of Boston, also known as Christ Church, is the oldest standing church building, having first opened its doors to worshippers on December 29, 1723. Its 191 foot steeple is the tallest in Boston and because of its prominence would play a dramatic role in the American Revolution. The enduring fame of the Old North began on the evening of April 18, 1775, when the church sexton, Robert Newman, climbed the steeple and held high two lanterns as a signal from Paul Revere that the British were marching to Lexington and Concord by sea and not by land using the famous lanterns "one if by land, two if by sea" .This fateful event ignited the American Revolution.
These landscapes exist in everyday life in America. These architects and parks are the signals to respond the history of America and are also reflected the American culture. In order to quickly comprehend and understand the American culture, we need to observe things surrounding us.
I like the picture in this article.
